Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Etanol Daun Kopi Robusta (Coffea canephora) Terhadap Penurunan Kadar Gula Darah Pada Hewan Uji Mencit (Mus musculus)
This research purposes to determine the effect of ethanol extract of Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora) leaves on reducing blood sugar levels in mice (Mus musculus). This type of research is a laboratory experimental method. The test animals used were 15 mice divided into 5 groups. Then the test animals were induced with 20% glucose orally. Group 1 was given Na suspension. CMC as a negative control, group 2 was given metformin suspension as a positive control, and groups 3, 4 and 5 were given a suspension of ethanol extract of robusta coffee leaves with 150, 200 and 250 mg/Kg BW, respectively. Blood sugar was measured at 60, 120 and 180 minutes using a Nesco Check glucometer. The data obtained were statistically processed using SPSS analysis. The average difference in levels obtained before and after treatment is in the negative group 17.84%, the positive group is 64.67%, the sample group is 150mg/Kg BW is 31.38%, the sample group is 200mg/Kg BW is 45.77 %, and the sample group of 250mg/Kg BW was 53.97%. The results showed that the ethanol extract of robusta coffee leaves at a dose of 250mg/Kg BW was able to lower blood glucose levels the highest among the three extract doses.
