Abstract

This Research has been carried out on the activity of Golobe (Hornstedtia alliacea) rhizome extract against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. This study aims to determine the activity of extracts of Golobe (Hornstedtia alliacea) against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria. The extract was produced by maceration using 96% ethanol solvent, the extracting liquid was concentrated to obtain a thick extract. Golobe Rhizome Extract during the incubation period of 1 x 24 hours, for Staphylococcus aureus the inhibition zone (clear zone) formed, each different concentration has an average of 2.5% (12.31 mm), 5% (13, 73 mm), 7.5% (16.76 mm) positive control (21.32 mm). for Escherichia coli bacteria the inhibition zone (clear zone) formed, each different concentration has an average of 2.5% (9.66 mm), 5% (11.74 mm), 7.5% (13.52 mm) positive control (22.67 mm). The greatest inhibitory power of the Golobe Rhizome Extract from the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria was at a concentration of 7.5%, each of which was 16.76 mm and 13.52 mm. for ANOVA calculation using Graphad prism P value < 0.0001 indicates significant with F value 260.3

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang akvifitas ekstrak Rimpang Golobe (Hornstedtia alliacea) terhadap pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli. Penelitian ini bertujuan Untuk mengetahui adanya aktivitas ekstrak Golobe (Hornstedtia alliacea) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli. Ekstrak dihasilkan dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%, cairan pengekstraksi dipekatkan hingga diperoleh ekstrak kental. Ekstrak Rimpang Golobe pada masa inkubasi 1 x 24 jam, untuk bakteri Staphylococcus aureus zona hambatan (zona bening) yang terbentuk masing-masing konsentrasi yang berbeda memiliki rata – rata 2, 5% (12,31 mm), 5% (13,73 mm), 7,5% (16,76 mm) kontrol positif (21,32 mm). untuk bakteri Escherichia coli zona hambatan yang terbentuk masing-masing konsentrasi yang berbeda memiliki rata – rata 2, 5% (9,66 mm), 5% (11,74 mm), 7,5% (13,52 mm) kontrol positif (22,67 mm). Daya hambat terbesar Ekstrak Rimpang Golobe dari pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli pada konsentrasi  7,5%, masing- masing sebesar 16,76 mm dan 13,52  mm. untuk perhitungan anova P value < 0,001 menyatakan signifikan dengan nilai F 260,3
