Determinan Perilaku Masyarakat Pesisir dalam Pembuangan Sampah ke Laut dan Implikasinya terhadap Kesehatan Lingkungan: Sebuah Studi di Kota Palu, Indonesia
Abstract
Sampah laut, terutama sampah plastik, telah berkembang menjadi ancaman serius bagi ekosistem pesisir dan kesehatan masyarakat. Di Kota Palu, rendahnya pengelolaan sampah menyebabkan peningkatan pencemaran laut yang berdampak langsung pada kualitas lingkungan dan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku masyarakat pesisir dengan kebiasaan membuang sampah ke laut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan survei terhadap 100 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner yang dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan uji Chi-Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden memiliki pengetahuan (83%) dan sikap (71%) yang baik mengenai dampak pembuangan sampah, namun hanya 28% yang menunjukkan perilaku baik dalam pengelolaan sampah, dengan 51% responden masih membuang sampah ke laut. Analisis lebih lanjut menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara tingkat pendidikan dengan pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku, serta hubungan yang kuat antara pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku dengan kebiasaan membuang sampah ke laut (p<0,05). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan pendidikan dan literasi lingkungan sangat penting untuk membentuk perilaku masyarakat yang lebih bertanggung jawab terhadap pengelolaan sampah laut.
