Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

  1. Manuscripts written for JGLP include research results, field research or library research, and articles containing social, political, and government phenomena.
  2. Manuscripts are written in English. The writing system for research results is title, author's name, abstract with keywords, introduction, method, results and discussion, conclusion, and bibliography.
  3. Manuscripts are typed using Microsoft Word, Cambria size 11 pts and 1 space.
  4. Manuscripts are submitted directly by creating a user account as an author at https://journal.unpacti.ac.id/index.php/JGLP/user/register

 Title

The title should not exceed 15 words; it should be clear, concise, and informative. Abbreviations should be avoided.

Name of the author

The name of the author is written without any academic degree, followed by the name of the author's institution, located under the title of the article. In case manuscript written by a team, the editor is only in contact with the main author or the first mentioned. The main author must include his/her correspondence address or email.

Abstract with keywords

The length of abstract is around 100-200 words, while the limit of keywords is 3-5 words. The abstract, at least, must contain the aims, methods, and results on the research.

Introduction

The introduction should contain (sequentially) the general background and research question or hypothesis. If there is a literature review, it can be included in this chapter. The study objective should be written at the end of the introduction.

Method

The research methods should elaborate on the method utilized in addressing the issues including the method of analysis. It should contain sufficient detail allowing the reader to evaluate the appropriateness of methods as well as the reliability and validity of findings.

Results and Discussion

The author should explain the results of research (what was discovered) in detail. The research results and discussion section contain the results of the research findings and their ensuing discussions. The findings obtained from the results of the conducted research should be written with the supplementary support of adequate data. The research results and findings should be able to resolve or provide explanations to the question stated in the introduction.

Conclusion

The concluding statement should contain summary and suggestions. The summary should exemplify the answers provided to the hypothesis and/or research objectives or obtained findings. The summary should not contain repetition of research results and discussions, and it should instead contain a summation of research results and findings as expected in the research objective or hypothesis. The suggestions should present matters that will be subsequently conducted in relation to the research's ensuing concepts.

Acknowledgments

It must be your gratitude to anybody, institution or anything who helped or contributed to the author's research, it can be one sentence or more.

All references used in the article should be listed in the References section. References should contain reference literature originating from primary sources (scientific journals at least 80% of the entire references) published in the last 10 (ten) years. Each article contains at least 10 (ten) references. 

It is better to write the reference system in the article and in the references section using the reference management programs such as Mendeley. The writing format used in Journal of Governance and Local Politics (JGLP) is APA 7th Edition (American Psychological Association).
