Hubungan Kebiasaan Minum Kopi dengan Kadar Gula Darah Puasa pada Mahasiswa Kesehatan Masyarakat: Studi Cross-Sectional

Abstract

Kopi merupakan salah satu minuman yang banyak dikonsumsi mahasiswa dan telah menjadi bagian dari gaya hidup. Kandungan kafein serta senyawa bioaktif dalam kopi diduga dapat memengaruhi metabolisme glukosa dan kadar gula darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan kebiasaan minum kopi dengan kadar gula darah pada mahasiswa angkatan 2022 Jurusan Kesehatan Masyarakat Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain analitik observasional melalui pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 175 mahasiswa, dengan sampel sebanyak 122 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan pemeriksaan gula darah puasa menggunakan glukometer, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara frekuensi minum kopi dengan kadar gula darah (p=0,000). Sebaliknya, cara penyajian kopi (p=0,547) dan waktu konsumsi kopi (p=0,666) tidak menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan dengan kadar gula darah. Sebagian besar responden mengonsumsi kopi 1–2 kali per minggu dan memiliki kadar gula darah normal. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa frekuensi konsumsi kopi berhubungan dengan kadar gula darah puasa mahasiswa, sedangkan cara penyajian dan waktu konsumsi kopi tidak berhubungan secara signifikan. Hasil penelitian diharapkan menjadi dasar edukasi mengenai pola konsumsi kopi yang sehat pada mahasiswa.
